Is the work ever done?

I was asked recently by one of my Brothers, “How are you so active?” I’m not even close to being as active as I would like to be in Masonry. A part of Masonry is splitting your time between God, Family, and your career. It’s those moments I get in between, those moments that are precious to me. Don’t get me wrong, the other three things come first and they are all very precious to me as well, but it’s the moments I get to spend with the Brothers that are wonderful. It is an amazing feeling to see the look in a younger brothers eyes when we are doing the work and it clicks. He gets it! It’s that look that keeps me active. It’s the Brotherhood of Man that keeps me going. It’s that special feeling you get in helping a young man in his new Masonic journey. It’s the special feeling you get when an older Brother makes something click in my eyes.

So again I ask is the Work ever done? I’ll let a quote from our Esteemed Brother Benjamin Franklin answer:

“Masonic labor is purely a labor of love. He who seeks to draw wages in gold and silver will be disappointed. The wages of a Mason are earned and paid in their dealings with one another. Sympathy begets sympathy. Kindness begets kindness. Helpfulness begets helpfulness. And these are the wages of a Mason”.
